For some time now, Minecraft has been pushed as a viable educational utility, presenting kids with an experience where they may learn important life skills as an alternative to being subjected to what some might consider mundane or conventional learning methods. With Minecraft: Education Edition now available to educators, Minecraft could soon become a staple in classrooms across the world. Others are also using Minecraft to come up with creative ways to entice children to learn by creating an interactive, hands on experience with Minecraft as the central theme (see Build your own Minecraft mini-PC with Piper's computer kit). Now it seems Minecraft can also aid computers in learning by helping them develop smarter AI. Check out Microsoft's report on Project Malmo, a tool which will do just that.
